its possible, but 25 hc with bots is difficult. there are videos of people doing it though

I would wager most people here have servers. If you're asking about public access ones, though, that's a different question.

The most common issue seemed to be changing the addresses in the right place, from what comes to mind.

I'm going to say this, if you can port foward and only for the usage with your friends, avoid using vpns like radmin or similiar.
In the case you can't port foward or your friends dont have enough stable connection to you, than i would recommend radmin or any similiar software.
But the changes in the database is just changing the address to your public IP and localaddress leave localhost or change it to your machine's local ip
