By default it should only allow 127.0.0.1 as a connection, you've to change it to allow other IPs

yea but nothing's changed - I've done ip a and the IP address hasnt changed. I was literally playing wow and it booted me out and now i cant connect

I can hit the server in virtual box through putty and windows cmd prompt using ssh

If I want to remove a module is it just a case of removing from my modules folder and cmake-rebuild?

Remove it or disable it in cmake, run cmake and compile again
