Correct. This s how I'm hosting. I would suggest at least 8 gigs of memory for the VM based on my deployment with 0 population.

ok, the idea was to test it in the VM and if i like it, and like the stability and so on take a mini-pc, install linux there and use it as a main server (for localhost), or well i can also leave it as a VM

As long as the host has enough resources to offer the VM, there's not really any reason that I can think of of why a bare metal installation would be better than VM.
