Anyone famliar with using altbots here? I can't tell if their completing certain quests, such as needing loot. I just started in Durotar, and they didn't seem to get credit for whacking lazy peons either since they can't do the next quest. Any suggestions?

Disable <https://github.com/azerothcore/azerothcore-wotlk/blob/d1b75f93f4c1256ee886ee551acc157c74548839/src/server/apps/worldserver/worldserver.conf.dist#L2792> since it stops the bots from accepting quests with you in the starting zones

In the future if they don't take a quest, write "talk" while targeting the npc or interact with the npc, they will say they have quest available, type accept <quest link>. Quest link from the whisper about available quest.

It's really only in the starting zones they won't accept quest with you because you accept them instantly so they don't have time to react. Disabling auto accept fixes that.

Is there a way to get them to "do" stuff like hit the peons?

Not unless you specifically tell them to
