to answer your question, i dont think there has been any mods or adjustments to make it more 'cataclyzm like' where cities are always rendered from above

yeah, I've tried it. I flew into orgrimmar, it works fine and seems to get you into the right place once the models are rendered but it's just a big hole I assume it needs a client patch to add the models

It's not backwards. It's designed in such a way where you don't edit the source version of the config (which is why you make a copy and remove the .dist from it). All configs follow that pattern.

Gotcha, it was the first module for which I had to edit the config. So I figured I had to edit the config file in the mod folder
