All your friend would have to do is set their realmlist.wtf to your public IP then connect

Only reason they'd need anything other than just a client is if you're using something like hamachi to host, I think

Cool beans. I'm pretty sure I did the DB edit and forwarded the two ports and such right. I kind of figured they only needed a client if I was hosting, but I've only been messing with this for a couple days so I've been figuring out a lot

Then your friend should be good to go as long as you updated your world and authserver configs to your public IP it should be going good

and yeah you'll have to do that unless you have a discord bot or a webpage linked to your auth/worldserver but I have no clue how that works
