I still had a pile of floopy disks 3.5 with 95, 98, ME and XP on them.
Nowadays the DOS commands i known is all beacuse you still had to use them to install or navigate on the DOS CLI

Trinitycore I was looking at because it has cataclysm, which im more interested in, buuut it seems that is less popular and as a result would have less support/modules.

You've to understand there's years of information, emulation for vanilla to wotlk, and wotlk being the beloved one has the most developement, rest are just nesh (however you write it)

any xpac past wotlk would need extensive work implementing things. a lot missing due to <=wotlk having much more of a community/contributors

And a lot simpler with it's scripting. Cata is when fights and events started getting excessively script heavy.
