Ok then I'm out, srry I've never used the acore.sh.
I run my server with my own start/stop scripts.
You can try navigate to your bin folder the authserver and worldserver is in and start the server manually. './worldserver' maybe you can write to it this way.

doubt that changes anything, the problem here lies in the input to the shell and not the command to the worldserver

GetTeamId() is another thing in the core that returns either alliance or horde. I have absolutely no idea why playerbots has its own function. Maybe it's something the original had when it was ported and no one corrected it?
Edit: Unless it checks against non-players/non-bots/non-entities to see if a race is alliance, but that doesn't make sense.
