I was wondering if anyone had a resource that can describe each database table variable and where to find these variables? I am also looking for a tool that can assist in showing all the places I need to modify when I want to add in a spell, talent, item, or what ever else I want to add. I know how to read a database and the schema, I am looking for a tool that make this tedious task a little more direct.

I have used spell editor, Kiera, database editor and all those common place tools. I need a tool that is better than wowdev.wiki, wowdb, and wowhead. I feel like I am having to decipher an ancient language just to add a piece of content and even then it still isnt clear where the data is coming from or where to look for it.

Edit the .conf. then make a copy. Replace the .conf with your new one. Delete the .dist file and then edit the name of the new .conf file with ".dist" at the end.

The .dist is the important file as this runs with the initial runtime of the software. That is my understanding. Correct me if I am wrong.

Both still play their part and both are required or you will get errors

Disclaimer: I assume you are making a backup copy of your .conf file in a separate folder. If not then, you can just edit the .conf, make a copy of the .conf file, then delete the .dist file, rename the .conf copy file to the same as the .dist.

That's bad advice. You make a copy of the .conf.dist, remove the .dist and change the one that just has .conf as the file extension. The dist is meant as the default and shouldn't be messed with.
