players not found usually happens when I have a mob/npc selected

so if you relog it will deselect and maybe that's why it works then

That too. I tried targeting myself and it still says that. It's been like that for as long as I can remember though and sometimes it doesn't happen the entire session I'm logging in on the GM char and sometimes it happens fairly quickly. I don't play with a GM char normally and only use it for certain things so it doesn't affect me that much thankfully.

Most commands will target you if you target an NPC. It's like you don't exist.

I don't know why it rolls your character back when you exit by killing the process. I have HeidiSQL running most of the time.
