I could make them "red"/hostile to players (supposedly!), however they won't start attacking (still stay passive)

so yeah being hostile doesn't necessarily means attack on sight, which is what i'm trying to pinpoint

Leashes aren't creature to creature, they are handled globally (outside of instances)
