im much more comfortable in sql so i typically convert my dbc files to sql tables and edit them from in there. lmao

So, I'm editing them in the Spell Editor now. Once I've modify the base settings, is saving it enough? Or, do I need to export it as well? Again, not very familiar with the app and can't find much on it with Google lol...

also depending on what you change, you may need to package the dbc in a custom mpq patch for clients to put in their data folder

It does open but it messes up the descriptions. And if I save it, the descriptions in the game are messed up, showing "missing string" for example instead of healing touch, etc. It opens up despite the error, but upon opening the data is now corrupted with errors
