Google is your friend here Most public servers host copies of clients, and most torrent databases do too

You can enable and disable access to specific expansion maps by default. No need to wipe server first. For more substantial changes, you should look into modules like individual progression

Yep I know that, but I thought that these such copies could be modified by said servers and be unsuitable

Either way, almost all clients used nowadays are modified as the original WotLK graphics are kinda bad, so most of us run various HD mods from either the wotlk 3.3.5a hd client Discord or earlier iterations
