This the official guide https://www.azerothcore.org/wiki/classic-installation
There are also a lot of video tutorials on youtube for the process, including a fork of AC that is a version for installing bots on your server (sort of the mimic a populated server), for that one I used this video when I started https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwJ6OfPophw

Sorry I maybe misswrote what I wanted to say my server run actually already just want to dev inside now but dont know if you should do like a external vscode setup or download some external stuff like cmake etc

Well, oddly, your recommendation to hack the code seems to have fixed my problem. Only thing I did different is I used "continue" instead of "return". Thanks a ton, no more progression lost due to crashes. And if a nasty surprise comes later due to the hack, I'll revert it.
