yeah fair, that's why I was curious if there's anything I can do to make it use more hardware, but if not I'll put the waypoint movement active thing off

it is quite sad because a lot of stuff gets bugged out by not having them on such as the pitlord outside the dark portal

Keeping things active all the time sounds like a poor way to hide scripting issues

yes I have a few custom NPCS that are on rather large patrol routes that are supposed to bump into people and preloading them makes them start their patrol without anyone having to get near the start of their patrol

I've forced them active in their smartai and the preloading seems to follow that, but it is quite noticeable when enemies move out of view distance and their patrols stop, I believe it makes quests like defias messenger and that one guy in thousand needles impossible to camp for their patrol and you have to actively seek them out

The patrol stops because other creatures are unloaded?

A bandaid could be to just increase the view distance of those mobs to infinite, then they'd at least last out the grid size

as you get closer they will render in around the time you pull the boss unless you crank the view distance very high causing you to pull 2 extra trash packs that won't start patrolling until you get close enough to pull the boss
