I'm not an expert on the AH bot sadly but in a nutshell it adds auctions ever so often, it checks every 15 minutes maybe and if it needs to add items because there's fewer auctions up than you have specified is the minimum totala mount, it adds however many items is set in the items per cycle setting

I like keeping it around 1000 so I don't have to wait so long for it to add auctions after a reload, but some say it's better with only a few hundred items to reduce load on auction expirations
