yeah, right, i think i'm going to go the discord bot route then
but why not enable such a feature in the vanilla installation itself?

Or, if there are ready made web servers I can launch on the same machine I have my private server running, that would be just a treat. You guys know any canonically good such webserver? Else, i'll go do the proper research

There's many web projects you can use for this in addition to acore CMS, including BlizzCMS, FusionCMS, https://github.com/masterking32/WoWSimpleRegistration, https://github.com/ZeegCL/AZimpleWeb and more

Common for them all is that you need to set up your own web server. XAMPP is pretty much plug and play for Windows. For Linux I use php apache, an AI can help you set it up fairly quickly assuming the iptables don't gunk things up
