Oh gawd.... this branch demands all sub-dirs of 'data' to be directly under azerothcore-wotlk, not under 'data'. I moved dirs/files, then it ran... How should someone know this >.< It is working, I am in the world with many bots. Yeah, I can see random bots are draining cpu power quite a lot... Thanks for letting me to install it in my macbook!

<@753785521846878208> it all depends on the configuration as to where the data is loaded from. I have mine configured to look in `./data/`.

Make sure you rename the .conf.dist files by removing the .dist, so it becomes a .conf file. Always edit .conf files.
.dist files are overwritten whenever you compile.
