if not, then there is a glitch with the Time-Lost Drake, because as soon as I activated the mount, all coins I had in my inventory vanished

might have been when the game locked up right as I killed him, was able to log back in before the timer ran out on looting the thing lol

Yea a crash could do it, if the shutdown wasn't clean it could wipe items and gold not saved to the database yet for example
