the part i realized i screwed up was i didn't realize i was supposed to install with a playerbots source if i wanted that module

but using the normal standard branch yea i tested yesterday and i got logged in no problem

but atm i juuuuust finished doign my clean and build in visual studio so yea i haven't tested this install yet

though i thiiiink i may have found what i was looking for in relation to the patch details at least partially. going through the "all changes" list, some of them are marked optional. so im gonna assume that's the list of things included in those patches
