It kills shieldtwisting and libram swapping, which I'm pretty sure worked in classic

True. Though the technique predates classic, so it either came from pservers without the delay or actual vanilla

Do you still get the error for Defias Thug NPCs? I too get them. It's the only error I encounter constantly on the terminal, including after I had rebuilt the server from scratch.
