It's one possible reason why it fails. If it runs out of memory it can't continue.

That won't matter. The system I'm testing on has **nothing** but the compile running on it. I limited it to 4 threads and being close to the end this is the highest number I've seen

I suppose you could try compiling as-is to see if it fails again, but keep an eye on RAM usage while doing so.

If it doesn't work then you should try limiting the number of threads used. I have the instructions for changing those ready to go if they're needed.
