BTW I have an HP Omen 17 with 16gb of ram and an Intel core I7 8750H CPU ; so should be fine i guess ?

I'm not sure if 16GB is enough with 12 threads. When I compile it on one of my 12-thread systems visual studio eats 17-18GB

Yes and no. Each thing you add to it will take up resources but you can change the number of threads it uses and it should be fine
