I'd like to have a gui up to make some things easier. I downloaded the xfce version to keep it lighter.

you can have a gui, SSH and headless server. I have 4 going that have a GUI in my basement (cold there) and use VNC to access them.

That sounds good but I still need the laptop screen to be turned off completely and I have no idea how to do that lol

Nvm I may have figured out how to ignore standby when closing laptop.
