I dont see great documentation for how the pools work. From what I can tell is that there in pool_template you can list the number of ores in a specific area. How each area is defined is not documented at all. For example there are 40 individual entries for tin/silver in Loch Modan, each with 1 node, that have no sense of geographical location. That then gets passed to pool_pool that sets if the node gets spawned chance only (Not timing), followed by pool_gameobject that sets what the node spawns as (tin or silver).
My guess is that there is some fixed respawn rate defined somewhere else, and it seems that editing the number of spawn points without clear understanding of where things are could be problematic.
That being said, it is blizzlike to have to hunt down minerals, and using the AH to buy what you dont have.

Is the beep to alert you that the server's loaded premature? Trying to log in right after that leaves me on "Connected" for a while until disk activity calms down. Looking at the file handles being created suggests it's still doing map loading (alongside some anomalies in the paths used) at that point despite the console being ready. The client does eventually fully connect, usually taking only a couple minutes, but it makes me wonder if there's something deeper going on.

The beep, which only happens on Windows, is just an indication of the server having started up. It isn't a warning.

I suppose I worded that poorly. I'm asking if the beep itself is premature.
