Phasemask 4 only sees 4.
5 sees 4 and 1
6 sees 4 and 2
7 sees 4 and 2 and 1
8 sees only 8

2 ^ x it's a base 2 value, any value gain with this, from the numbers you showed, makes them a base 2 values (and when those values, 1,2,4,8 etc) only those values can see that phase

No, if i understand your premise right.
A player with a phasemask of 12 for example has 2 unique phases which it can see: 4 and 8. So 4 can not be seen only by 4 but my any phasemask that contains a 4.
Think of it as binary values, that's what they are. 1 means visible, 0 means invisible
Upper line are the values of each bit, lower line is the actual phasemask in binary.
`1 2 4 8 16 32 64`
`1 0 1 0 0 0 0`
So 101 would be 5 in decimal, it can see phase 1 and 4.
