No. After I compiled everything in Visual Studio, I was left with the executables and config files (as well as my modules folders) - when I run it on my build box, it starts up fine. If I take the bin/RelWithDebInfo/ contents to the new box, it fails to start. Logs show “DBUpdater: the given source directory C:/azerothcore-wotlk does not exist, change the path to the new directory where your sql directory exists.”

I want to that its referring to the directory you have listed in your update settings for your DB in the worldserver.conf file... just update the path to the new path there and should be good I think

Ah likely because you did not reinstall the auth and world services which you would have to redo since you are on a new machine
