I am prob being stupid, but I have a networking question. I have a private server running on linux VM. It works fine on LAN with friends as well.
Question being after reading over https://www.azerothcore.org/wiki/networking, I see it says to open ports 3724, and 8085 if I wanted to invite people out of network.
Would I still need to configure the server to be public and forward ports if I were to run OpenVPN and a DDNS to play on a laptop away from home?
Or would this not be recommended. I just figured it would be more secure instead of opening everything up public

You can have it open, if you only create accounts from ac console
