In the server folder where your auth and world executables are, they havea config file in the config. Keep the IP in them 127.0.0.1 for your purposes.
Are you trying to access the DB from your PC to the VM or from the VM?

I can access, and I see everything but its like a copy of the db. Dont matter what I change It doesnt reflect

sorry I meant like if I change the ip and click save on heidi, whenever I start up the server it will still show the Ip I assigned with a query
