so its technically not spells themselves but without changing those mask then u would have spells but not their interactions

Yeah I know, I'm keeping .learn as a last resort but I was hoping to find a way to make it work ingame. It sounds like removing the classmask of a single spell won't actually do anything. Is there a way to make a trainer teach me even if I'm the wrong class?

im not sure how it would make sense to be fair....u could create new trainer which would have all spells....or create new system all together

but main issue with it is that i doubt u will like how it will actually behave....how classless servers do it is to my knowledge with binary edit bcs client has implicitly hardcoded limits on spell masks which if u remove allows u to make it work.....u could do it server side but then u would have broken tooltips in game

If the server gives me a spell (such as from .learn) the client will display it in my spellbook and allow me to cast it, so I don't think I need to patch the client. The first obstacle I need to get around is how to make a trainer not turn me away if I'm the wrong class, and show me a purchase list instead. I suspect that list may be empty if I'm the wrong class, but that's the second problem. How do I make a trainer not turn me away? My instinct is that it's probably a quick CPP hack to return TRUE when it checks for my class

it will work in sense that it will be just that base version of spell however no procs or talent effects will apply to it bcs it has different masks

I... think that went without saying. That's obviously the case.

as i said u could handle it server side but for cost of broken tooltips
