Well I'm cloning it the same way the original install instructions told me to do, which resulted in a functioning clean server. The intructions for installinga module say I should clone again, inside the existing clone, to the modules folder. Am I understanding that correctly?

You should clone the module's repository inside the modules folder, not clone `azerothcore-wotlk` again
