That makes sense. I just haven't had time to research how to make a new sandbox server to test on yet

You have a working server, you're farther along than me. From my lurking and a lot of forum reading testing modules before pushing to live seems to be good practice. The other thing is being sure to make rolling backups incase your files get corrupted. From what I understand that applies more to repacks than azerothcore, but I'd do it for both to be safe.
