with hamachi every player needs to be part of your private hamachi network and has to set their realmlist to your hamachi ip
with port forwarding every player has to set their realmlist to your public ip but you need to forward the authserver + worldserver ports to the local ip that your server is running on

When I try to use hamachi, I just can't log back, I change my address ipv4 to the realm list in HeidiSQL but when I try to log with my own wow it just doesnt log in, I can see that my server is online but it doesnt want me to log in and if I try to change my realm list in my wow folder to the hamachi address it just doesnt work.
