so the data folder has a lot of stuff in it. do I have to go all the way down in each of its sub folders and find multiple db or sql and add them all?

Small learning curve... for sure. I just have samba installed to my server so I can mount my server directories on my windows/mac then I can just go to the folders with sql and double click the .sql files and open in heidi.

You need to drill down to those data folders for each module in your modules folder that you get errors for.

right, thats how I fixed the hunter starter pet mod kinda, minus the sql part. their code was not written properly so I had to go in and fix their capitalizations to get it to work

Yeah you may likely run into modules that have outdated SQL due to changes that happened in JUne. and getLevel was recently changed to GetLevel.
