No, you can pull mysql and auth with 1GB of ram barely, but the world server will take 1.5gb alone.

You can run it in oracle cloud for free with 4core and 24gb of ram.

There's a misunderstanding in what Revision said.
Client connects to auth. Auth passes connection to one world server. Auth does not talk to client anymore at all and could indeed be shut off without affecting the world server talking to the client and vice versa.

Ok thanks for the info I've got more I just wanted to experiment on the least ram possible to get it working just for fun

Sure. The root of the conversation though is what's gotta be configured to put the worldserver elsewhere. The realm list table does have a "localAddress" field separate to the public "address" field. I would infer that's for auth to talk directly to the world but the doco doesn't actually say (just "mostly 127.0.0.1”). Not sure why else that field would exist.

The local address field is for communications n in between the servers, which doesn't happen outside of e.g. GM commands.
