AzerothCore doesn't support any client version other than 3.3.5a so if you've downloaded AzerothCore you have no choice on the matter.

While the auth and world server are basically clones of each other only the world server runs on world and auth on auth.

Just for the record, authserver and worldserver don't talk to each other. You connect to the authserver and if the credentials are correct you are handed over to the worldserver by the authserver and after that authserver serves no purpose what so ever.
