For example raptor.m2 got plenty of blps let's say 20.
But you find that only 1-2 of these match 1 version of a raptor.
I wasn't clear enough, my fault; some spells (after all, this is a thread about spells, not creatures) share the same M2s (like fire spells, for example), thus it is difficult to change some spells without affecting others. That's why when you look at the blps in the spells folder, many of them are not specified to a certain spell because they are shared. DBC editing is the best solution for this.

Quote: Also the particles have their own color, so you need to edit the particles in the m2s to have a really cool effect.
For the green fire I wrote a script for Zombiemold to recolor the Particles, adapted to blue it would look like:
Code:
from m2 import *
filename = "Wisp.m2"
m2 = M2File(filename )
for i in m2.particle_emitters:
for j in i.color.Keys:
j.x = 0 #red
j.y = 0#green
j.z = 255 # blue
m2.write(filename)
(You need to have Python+PyM2 { see Guides and Programs forums})
