If so, is it possible for the model edit to -only- effect my troll, and not every other male troll on my screen?

It isn't possible to effect only your troll with the model edit. Because your troll doesnt have anything unique that differs him from the rest. In the database your troll model has the same ID as thousands of other trolls.
