it's easy, just open mes, click WDB icon (WDB editor), click "load", navigate to "World of Warcraft\Cache\WDB\enGB\itemcache.wdb", wait till it's fully loaded, So in the window "from" find the item you are currently using, usea search to make it easier, and in window "to" find any of the corresponding this.
Chest: Banded Armor
Legs: Boulderfist Legplates
Bracers: Living Earth Bindings
Click convert and you're done i guess...
Weapon i used is: Rune Sword
So i see my thread was moved to "simple model edits" ...i guess using photoshop to change texture is considered simple lol... well it's not so simple if you got to worry about doing .blp->.png->.blp conversion without loosing texure quality. stupid different kinds of .blp-s and their different support for alpha channels.
There is a fundamental problem with these conversions which is that BLPs can handle palettized images with full alpha channels, but no common graphics file formats can. PNGs can only do 1-bit alpha on palettized images, hence when trying to convert a palettized, 8-bit image to a PNG by default you get a 1-bit alpha PNG. This default is nice because it preserves the colors, but bad because you lose that extra alpha detail. So it was tricky to find a software that could help with that, and then figure out how to use it couse it was complicated as hell heh... i had to write my own batch files just to make the conversion process less painful so i could do all this without taking weeks.
So the texture quality stays at it's best
but hey... who am i to judge what's simple model edit and what's not x)
thanks for all the comments! love you all
