It's not very hard to make such edits as I did. It only requires patience
Ok so the first thing you'll be needing is an MPQ extracting/editing program. I personally go with Ladik's MPQ Editor (I think it should be around on this forum). And that's pretty much it.
All you have to do is to extract the folders from the MPQ files in your WoW directory you want to edit. Replace all the files in the folder you just extracted with your sound files (they must have the same name!). For example if you wanna replace a file named "zomgwtf.wav" you just name your own file zomgwtf.wav and replace the old one.
Then the final step. Pack it into a MPQ file and name it Patch-<INSERTRANDOMLETTERORNUMBERHERE>.MPQ
It's important that you keep the same path as the MPQ file you extracted.
And there you got a patch! Enjoy

I also did that with the Super Mario World, of Warcraft but it got kinda lame. So I made this instead

Thanks a huge lot again for the patch, and the guide on how to do it. I'm actually borrowing the character (well human male) and some of the sound effects to put in my own soundswap of Vanilla, BC, and Wrath.

Nice to hear that someone wants to carry on with the project
Feel free to use anything in my patch. You can even continue on mine if you want to

Quote:Ok guys I've understood that a patch that only works on vanilla sounds is pretty boring... So I've decided to update it! :>
But I'm not sure if I should use the sounds from Majora's Mask or if I should continue using the old sounds from OOT...
I'll let you decide by simply posting what you want in the forum!
You don't even have to choose between MM or OOT. You can have other suggestions as well.
So what are you waiting for? Post!
