[Archive] need help with the old character models

so, I basically just extracted the .m2 files from a vanilla client and I have made a folder called "characters" in the wow directory. I am using the Arctium client, and when I load up wow and log in, I am not able to see any of the character models at all. This is my first time trying to do anything regarding wow modeling, so I suspect that they aren't appearing as I haven't included the legion animations/textures or w/e.
Was wondering if someone could explain this to me so I could try and fix it, thanks alot! (:
