Hi there,

I started a character with Mining profession on the lastest 4.3.4 VIP build (10.1), and noticed that I did not get XP for mining copper and tin in the starting location and westfall.

However, going into Duskwood, I got XP from mining. I am not sure if every ore gives XP there, but definately gold.

On another character, I also got no XP from gathering herbs - the char is level 17 now.

Is this normal behavior, or a bug? If I remember correctly, Mining and Herbalism started giving XP in Cataclysm.

Thanks for any info on this, and regards,

Arnoldex

Hi there,

Skinning doesn't give XP because you've already got the XP from killing the mob you're skinning.

This is the reason why XP is awarded when you mine ores or pick herbs.

Thanks for your reply, but you missed the point of my question. I am not talking about skinning at all. I know that skinning does not grant experience, and it never did.

I wanted to know if it is normal behaviour that Mining and Herbalism do NOT give XP on the latest 4.3.4 build in the human starter regions up to Westfall.

Ores (at least Iron and Gold) start to give some XP in Duskwood, which seems odd.

Thanks and regards,

Arnoldex

All ores and herbs should give experience. You should report this bug in the Bug Reports section.
