Pretty sure Wall did this of the Wallcraft server. Not sure what was involved. Almost certain he plans to release all of the 3.3.5 maps downported to 1.12.1.

As far as I know, you don't need to covert anything, 3.3.5 maps are compatible with 1.12 right away, except for the liquid, which can be fixed by enabling some old format water setting in noggit. Don't remember what menu its in, but shouldn't be too hard to find
