I liked the point that you can get an application to production state so much quicker than your competitors, that it doesn't matter if it's more bloated

Yeah, kind of not the fault entirely of Electron, more a problem of Webkit, which it's built on right? Like all the browsers built on webkit they're super RAM hungry for whatever reason.

As I understand it Electron is basically just a bundled Chromium browser and Node.js (which gives it system native functionality).
