The exploit is still complex to pull off. Security through obscurity is not true security. In the real world when a issue is found you announce mitigation/updates, give time for people to update, then document the exploit. The latter we probably don't want to do, but it's better to publicise a fix especially with people digging into this more and not being aware that the client has this capability.
Sure, it's not going to reach every player -- but Google SEO and word of mouth will do a lot. The community being aware of such a massive exploit is better than the potential for some malicious actor using what was already available information to exploit it.
