I mean, windows processes have completely separate memory spaces. It is intentionally done by design.

So what you're getting is pointer of memory space of another process. Ofc you will get access violation

That's why people inject dll into process's space, since then DLL code and process will share memory space. And only then they do manipulation with memory/inject stuff or do shady calls

I think it's possible to do memory manipulations to a certain degree without DLL injection. But to call a function, you 100% need to do injection
