Typically RE requires fundamental basics of how the particular application type works, and then some assembly knowledge to understand what you're looking at

For example, if you want to find a list of the entities in a game, its very important to understand if the game uses a linked list, a linear array, an ecs perhaps etc

So in your case, it would be someone with game development experience in general that does programming and knows assembly & RE
