a beam for flying creatures is a very good idea.
I also noticed in this picture there are no projected blue circle on the ground i'm not sure if it's because they aren't character models so for creature models there's a high chance they don't just have legs so they disable it (I thought of this as well) or just different wow edit version, everything is quite different from the other pic

that's why you could often see "bunnies" and "infernals" in pservers as they were often used as the "debug" model
