It won't connect to the database, even given the proper password

The only thing I can think of is that it's trying to connect to root, and that somehow is impeded by the SQL server not wanting any external programs to connect via root

So I don't know why it's acting up, but what I plan to do is give another user administrative access and trying to connect with that user instead of root

Even under Windows the same thing applies, SQL doesn't like you using the default admin account when connecting remotely
