Well, not everything can be downported xD. That's why blizz themselves were adding new chunks - they could not express new data/behavior with old available methods

But alongside with that I also did not noticed any actual need for the bfa+ maps being downported

not all in one but schlumpf did write the txid-style tool for adts and that's on model changing
